Background

Kukar-Gadu Empowerment Development Initiative

Kukar-Gadu Empowerment Development Initiative (KEDI) was established through the support Kukar-Gadu got from the Victims Support Fund (VSF) under the Chairmanship of Gen. T.Y. Danjuma. The Executive Director Prof. Nana Tanko after careful analysis and demand needs identified Kukar-Gadu as a suitable location to establish such Centre.

The Community Skills Acquisition Training Centre aims to empower individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in their chosen trades. By focusing on welding, tailoring, aluminum fabrication, carpentry, and computer literacy, the Centre seeks to contribute to community development, economic self-sufficiency, and job creation.

Vision

To showcase how communities can promote sustainable livelihood towards community development and economic emancipation.

Mission

The mission of the Kukar-Gadu Community Skills Acquisition Training Centre is to provide practical and hands-on vocational training in various trades to empower individuals, particularly from underserved communities, by equipping them with relevant skills. This will enable them to secure employment, start their own businesses, and contribute to the sustainable development of their communities and the broader economy.

Aim

To empower unemployed youth and women with practical skills and entrepreneurial training, enabling them to achieve self-reliance, improve their livelihoods, and contribute meaningfully to community development and economic growth of the region.
